| BANDON RETAINING WALL REHABILITATION WORKS Bandon, Co. Cork. |
Works consist of repair works to the existing retaining wall which retains the Cork-Skibereen road N71 and regional road access to the town centre via R586. Works include: Replacement of sections of the existing wall with precast concrete wall panels with an in-situ heel and faced both sides with stone. Removal of organic matter from stonework and joints, removal of loose and inadequate masonry joints and restoration of masonry stonework at required sections of wall to be repaired. Re-pointing of stone masonry outer face of walls using a natural hydraulic lime mortar and grouting of the walls using a pumped natural hydraulic lime grout. Replacement of existing roadway and installation of 500m of linear drainage channel. Installation of 150m of scour protection to river bed level of the existing wall and underpinning of the existing wall. |
