| GOULBURN BRIDGE REPLACEMENT, Abbeyfeale, Co.Limerick |
This project involved replacing an existing eartfill embankment and armco culverts with a new reinforced concrete bridge spanning 20m. In order to keep the National Primary Route open during construction the bridge was built in two halves by the “top down” method. This involved completion of the bridge before the removal of the old structure underneath. The project required careful traffic management, working in a confined site and working within the Feale River which is a fisheries river and environmentally sensitive. |
