The works comprised of the design, delivery and installation of 34 No. precast concrete floating breakwater units (each 20m x 4m weighing approx. 60 tonnes), held in place by a ‘seaflex’ mooring system which was constructed complete with rock armour protection and concrete access slab. The existing northern quay was refurbished in the form of a new concrete deck. Both were connected to the new floating breakwaters via 2 No. access bridges. |
