Environmental improvement works to bulk storage tanks, Shannon Airport. Works involve phased removal and relocation of existing clay bund, provision and installation of drainage system and oil retention system, provision and installation of reinforced concrete floor slab and retaining walls. The existing electrical installation was re-routed, extend lightening was installed and a new lightening protection system installed. The existing mechanical pipework consisting of fuel lines, foam and drencher lines were raised and new top hats were installed. The project poses several challenges due to site being located within numerous restricted areas, such as the high security, Shannon Airport, the Shannon Airport flight path and the entire site being a category 0 high explosive atmosphere. |
