This project served to protect the existing island harbour from damaging storm waves, and resulted in the design and construction of hydraulic storm gates.
The redevelopment project included a harbour entrance, the remodeling of two piers, the installation of a slipway on remote, exposed island and the development of interlocking concrete blocks to defend against oncoming waves.
