Design

Since forming in 1987, Keating has consistently demonstrated their excellence in construction with the delivery of many complex, large scale and award-winning construction projects. The successful delivery of these projects was through the development of

To advance this process in 2016, we established an in-house design office to provide support to their Building, Civil & Marine Construction teams. Our in-house design and design management teams are experts in the deliverance of world-class technical solutions that not only exceed expectations, but also that are fully transferable for handover.

Design Coordination and Design Management

In the delivery of design and build projects the design office is collaborating with some of the best international design houses to provide a new level of support to our award-winning building, civil & marine construction teams. Here our design managers work closely with expert designers and the Keating teams to ensure high quality tailored design solutions are delivered on programme and in accordance with Keating's Vision, Mission and Values (VMV).

Detailed design delivery

As well as the co-ordination of external design houses, the Keating design office also offers a detailed design delivery service. Teamed with our design coordinators our detail design team of chartered engineers have significant multidisciplinary detailed design experience to provide rapid design solutions in line with the Keating vision, mission and value. Their wealth of experience, enthusiasm and commitment are key to delivering major multidisciplinary contractor designed projects safely. Quality, health & safety and environmental management are an integral part of Keating's Values. This is carried through in all aspects of the company operation. We are committed to providing the client with a valuable service where multidisciplinary designs are not only managed, coordinated and integrated, but also benefit from the added value of rigorous quality review in line with our strict in-house QA protocols and client requirements. The Keating design office is ISO 9001 accredited in the management and delivery of design.

Temporary works design Delivery

Another important aspect in the design delivery is the requirement for accurate, bespoke temporary works designs. The Keating design office and all subconsultants employed are all trained in "Designing Safely in Construction" and have a full understanding of the duties of the designer in accordance with the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Act 2005 and of the regulations enacted under that Act, in particular, the Safety Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2006 to 2008. These acts require designers to ensure that the project is capable to being constructed to be safe, can be maintained safely and complies with all relevant health and safety legislation. The delivery of temporary works design through the in-house design team offers significant benefits in quality and programme control but more importantly promotes close collaboration between site office teams to provide safe design solutions to complex works methodologies.
