Sustainability

We respect the environment we work within. Through sustainable practice we ensure that our carbon footprint remains low.

With continuous review of operations across all lines of the organisation, we've developed documented procedures and checklists to ensure that we meet our sustainability objectives.

We are ISO 14001 accredited, having developed specialist expertise in carrying out major civil engineering and construction works within and adjacent to Special Areas of Conservation (SAC's).

Keating is committed to waste management, materials procurement, and the use of plant resources. We continually aim to improve environmental performance and awareness amongst all of our employees.

We believe in responsible and sustainable procurement, using local suppliers when possible who we rely on to support our business needs and this applies across all our offices in Ireland and the UK.

Our sustainable procurement policy allows us to promote the responsible sourcing of materials, and is usually based on environmental and social considerations such as:

  • Biodegradability
  • Resource, Energy and Water Efficiency
  • Maximum Durability, reparability, reusability, recyclability and upgradeability
  • Health & Safety standards
  • Local production
  • Ethically sourced

This policy extends to subcontractors and we expect our subcontractors to hold the same values and standards that Keating stand for and promote.

Our Health & Safety standards are second to none and we place this at the core of our business. Our Health & Safety team are incredibly well versed on industry best practice and we take pride in our record to date, achieving a Grade A Safe-T-Cert accreditation, year on year since 2009.
